In 2007 Apex Properties received a contract to replace 26 roof top units ranging from 3 tons to 20 tons at one of our investor owned buildings. The project started with Apex project team performing an energy audit looking at potential rebates from member utility companies. After putting equipment out to bid and selecting contractors. Apex managed permitting, rigging, removal of existing units installation of new roof curbing, gas lines and power service. The new units were all high energy efficentcy units with large rebates available. Apex applied for and received the rebates drastically lowering the cost of the project. This case study shows how a building owner lowered his operating expenses through sound project management. The building received all new heating and cooling equipment , lowered it’s energy cost and cut down service calls on HVAC thus lowering the buildings operating costs drmatically.
